Reena Miglani

Co-Founder

Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Reena Miglani relocated to Chicago, USA, to pursue a Graduate Degree in Business and Finance. She entered the world of investment banking before relocating with her husband, restaurateur Ajay Walia, in California where she pivoted to a career in tech that spanned 20 years, working in Sales and Go-to-market at Computer Associates and Oracle. During this time, she supported Ajay’s entrepreneurial pursuits in the hospitality sector as a consultant for his two restaurants, Saffron in San Carlos, and Michelin starred RASA, later Saffron Burlingame. In 2023, Reena shifted into being a business owner herself with the founding of Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Amara, opening in San Francisco in mid2024. Reena also launched a joint-venture with her daughter, Nikita Waila, of awardwinning creative brand company, BLANK. Their co-founded business, First New York, curates modern heirlooms for empowered shoppers to gift themselves.
