Ajay Walia - Founder/Executive Chef
Born in New Delhi, India, pursued a successful finance career at J.P. Morgan and Deloitte before relocating to the Bay Area in 2000 to fulfill his dream of opening a restaurant. He launched Saffron Indian Bistro in San Carlos, offering quality Indian cuisine for over 20 years. In 2014, he opened RASA in Burlingame, earning a Michelin star in 2016. RASA became Saffron Burlingame in 2022, unifying the brand. Ajay now joins Amara as CEO, partnering with founder and wife, Reena Miglani.
